Participatory simulation platform
Participatory simulation platform for training in flood risk prevention
Developed for local players, this serious game takes the form of a simulation that integrates a model of marine submersion, the modelling of players acting in the area (inhabitants, State services, etc.) and game actions played in situ by elected officials and technicians (municipalities and inter-municipalities).
Originally designed for the territory of Oléron Island, LittoSim is now being deployed in other regions and training courses are being held to train facilitators to use this innovative tool. Workshops on the use of LittoSim lead to reflection on the effects of different types of land use planning on flood risk management (frontal defences, urbanisation methods, soft defences, strategic withdrawal), and allow participants to explore different management scenarios and to discuss them among themselves.
